Odysseus

Odysseus
by Jason Cruz
Grade 10-David

I, Odysseus, the brilliant king
strong, intelligent and the wisest of them all
Felt every sting, and seen swords swing
Even the god of sea struggle to make me fall

Missing home, with my family waiting
For years long, doubtful is my faith
Lost and uneasy, left me disorienting
Now across the sea, I sense my fate

My family, I have been longing for so long
Survived, may peace come to us from now on
Mistaken as it was pride all along
Odysseus I am, life must go on
