Storytelling Task on Odyssey

This activity is my students' response to the performance task:

You are a group of students who advocate to instill in the young minds the love for reading literature. To fulfill the advocacy you are tasked to come up with a big book featuring your own version of a favorite part of the Odyssey. The story contained in the book will be presented before Grade 1 students on July 27-29. You will be awarded as the best group story tellers based on your story’s comprehensibility during the delivery, creativity and originality.

Genesis and her partner were the first to present their book.

As they went on, they had hard time pacifying the excited Grade 1 pupils, so they gave them candies.

This is what happened after everyone got candies.

Students got pacified that they attentively listened to the next storytellers.

Irish and Jeron seemed to have fixed their listeners' attention to their illustrations that children really came close to the book and looked at it as Irish and Jeron alternately told their chosen part of The Odyssey.

Celine and Marco employed a combination of good looks and terrific delivery that their listeners fixed their eyes on the two of them rather than on the book.

Question and answer time came and the children got more excited. The storytellers even ran out of candies to give.

As a whole, I can say that my my students really enjoyed the activity as much as Grade 1 students did. Through it, the ideas we learned on story telling were applied and we were all satisfied with the way listeners responded.  All their efforts in coming up with the book and in preparing for the storytelling sessions paid off.
