I-Luke

Dear I-Luke,
How time flies. It seems like we met only yesterday. You were not so tall and so naïve of things around you. But now, look where you are and what you all have become. Nayobe, Jeremy, Ranier and Catherine have grown much taller and slimmer. Anna Katrina and Gelli have partially attained curves in the same manner that April, Regine and Jovert outgrew their childish ways. Biyanne, Janine, Kim and Alyssa have become fine young ladies as Airon, Jordan, Nemrod and Jerome became real gentlemen. Daryll Francisco is no longer a cry-baby while the real cry-baby who has been Ms. Paner’s daily counselee, Daryl Esguerra pursued a racing career. He has gone as far as Japan for a competition and seeing him on TV brought me so much pride. Lara managed to grow a straight long hair and the comb which used to be her enemy seems to be her best friend nowadays. Azel, Ysabelle, Kristia, Bettina, John Mark and Hannah have proven that diligence in studies pays off. Richard Remained dark yet managed to keep his chick boy image. And this what really amazes me, Argie who used to be very quiet is now the newest “crush ng TU”. Most girls in the lower years are dying for his attention. Arjohn, the last minute concept thinker has challenged everyone and proved that determination and charisma basically lead one to success. And Adelyn, the teenager who has made a great difference, is now exhibiting versatility in talent. No matter what has become of each one of you people for me you are still my I-Luke. In fact, whenever I come across Anne Frank’s Diary , I am reminded  of our struggle in studying and learning the main character’s code which we used in composing short notes for one another, especially on those times when we didn’t want others to decipher what we wished to express. Elmo reminds me of Richard’s company   (They gave me an Elmo pillow during our Christmas party.) Dried mango, pastillas and otap are remembrances of our Monday mornings. RIPRISA brings back the memory of Arjohn and Adelyn’s tandem. Annual Christmas room decoration contest is a recollection of your remorse and regrets. Remember how remorseful you were upon learning that you could have won first place if only you had been patient and organized? You disregarded Mr. Sanorjo’s reminder of keeping your decoration intact until the announcement of winners. We won the third place though. And the most unforgettable of all, the inipit chocolate cake with cookie chips toppings which you painstakingly did on my  birthday. You made my first birthday in TUMCS truly a blast. You were really wonderful. I’ll forever remember you I-Luke not only for the gifts you’ve given me but primarily because you were the very first students who taught me the value of tremendous patience and compassion and above all, unconditional love. You may forget the phrase “utang na loob I-Luke!”  but never the tension that we all endured as the principal stood right at the door while I was delivering my lesson. I imparted you knowledge as you shared me life’s lessons. I might have been mean and had somehow hurt you emotionally as I was trying to instill in you discipline; thus, I want you to hear me saying “I’m sorry” at the same time “Thank you” for all the memories you shared with me. I-Luke, I pray that everyone will graduate and eventually become successful. Walk in the light of God. Mahal ko kayong lahat. God bless you all!
