My Grandmother, Mother and Friend

This essay responds to the task:

You are a writer tasked to compose a tribute speech for an outstanding citizen of Taytay. This speech is to be delivered by you before the honoree and the audience during the inauguration of the Ancestral House of Taytay. Your written output must reflect the person’s extraordinary characteristics and dedication to his/her duty, whatever it may be. The essay needs to be well-organized, should observe the conventions of academic writing and be read in 5 minutes. Note that, you're giving tribute speech a twist, so your subject has to be alive for her/him to hear and know how he/she is appreciated by people like you.

Unlike other essays, this one appears to be the shortest in terms of length but the most sincere in terms of content. Hope this will be read by the person concerned.

Now that I am standing in front of you and was given the chance to state how thankful I am to the person that I respect the most, I shall use it with gratitude.
Thank you to the person who showered me with incomparable love. Thank you because you have always been there for me. Whenever my parent are having a fight, you would come just to hug me and tell me those soothing words to calm me.
Thank you because even if you are short of financial resources, you would still buy the things that I need for my school projects. You always volunteer to come to the family programs in school for me because you are aware that my parents are too busy to come. But now, oldness consumes your strength, causing you weakness physically.
You have done so much for me, to the point that I have lost count of it. You stood as my mother, father and friend. Some people are saying that I am the apple of your eyes because you treat me so dearly than my cousins.
I know thank yous are not enough to tell you how grateful I am. So I am here, in front of everybody, to say that I respect and love you for all the things that you have done, not only for me, but also for all the other people that you have helped.
Mrs. Virginia Capuz-Cahilig, my grandmother, ladies and gentlemen, my great adviser and defender. Thank you.
