Cayetano, the beloved principal of the High School Department, Rev.Allan T. Assuncion, Administrative Pastor, Taytay United Methodist Church, Ms. Maria Katherine “Kata” L. Inocencio, our guest speaker, distinguished guests, pastors, parents, teachers and fellow graduates, good evening.
This day marks another victory for us, in the sense that we have reached the end of our high school life with flying colors and will enter a new stage and environment. After all the sweat, blood and tears that we’ve shed, challenges and triumphs we’ve shared, I can say that all of us deserve this sweet victory.
TUMCSI became our second home for four years or more. We have shared laughter, sadness and quarrels yet we managed to be united and intact as seniors. The girlish giggles and the boyish laughter and gestures can be considered as special memories for each one of us and I know that this will always be remembered, for the tight ties of friendship are the marks of high school life. The passing of time made us grow into developed and productive individuals. We also learned how to stand on our own and endure problems bravely. With this change we are bound to accelerate to a higher level to match our present skills and talents. According to Rich Warren, Each one of us has a gift and talent bestowed by our Father. Let us use them and make them beneficial not only for ourselves but for others as well. For it is by using what God has given us that we serve our fellowmen. And as we serve our fellowmen, we give glory to God.
As everyone see and as others know us, we are childish and bubbly sometimes. However the next pace that we will enter doesn't require such. College is the reflection of our future, what we do there will be manifested in our lives as we become adults . They say that this is the most difficult stage because our performance there will either make or break our future. There, we will encounter people with different faces and masks which are very hard to discern, bigger obstacles and temptations will be on our way. We will see the other side of the world where people look at us based on our market value, our performance and grades. We will be weighed based on those and our choice of school. Considering all these, we are anticipating a very challenging years ahead of us.  But, knowing that there is God who gives everlasting strength and guidance which is stated in Psalms 37:23-24, and I quote, “The Lord guides us in the way we should go and protects those who pleases him. If they fall, they will not stray down, because the Lord will help them up”. Thus, we have nothing to worry about.
Let us not be apprehensive of what the future holds for us, instead, bear in mind the lessons that we acquire from our dear alma mater, pursue in serving God wholeheartedly and face the new world , head and faith held high - the TUMCSIan way.
To the people who played a great part in this journey of ours, I deeply acknowledge you. To our dear parents, words are not enough to express our love and gratitude for giving us moral and financial support. Without you, we are nothing. We promise to continue doing our best and strive to be adults living up to your expectations.
To our teachers, who in spite of our mischief still had time for us- time to explain the lessons again and again if we cannot understand them, to entertain our questions and to give pieces of advice to us regarding our everyday problems, we thank you. We assure you that all these things will never be forgotten and will never be in vain.
To our dear Alma Mater, Taytay United Methodist Christian School Inc., which became our breeding ground for the past years and the silent witness of our hopes and ideals, we owe you for helping us becoming what we are today. We will strive to uphold your ideals and values and give glory to your name.
To our classmates, schoolmates and friends thank you for sharing with me four years of wonderful experience, and for being the special kind of people who lift me up when I’m in need of support or consolation. In so many ways, you have given me inspiration, encouragement and even dare or challenge me to move on and do my best.
To our Almighty God, we thank You for all the gifts, strength and guidance you continuously give us, thank you Father. We also thank You for the trials and challenges you’ve let us endure for these mold us to be stronger and wiser and to face harder chapters of our lives. Lord, thank You for this victory and opportunity you’ve let me experience and the person you’ve blessed me as my inspiration, though he is not physically present in this time. We entrust everything to you. May you lead us to use our gifts and talents to glorify and serve You. Please show us the right path towards success.
Fellow graduates, the challenging college life commences as the fascinating high school life ends. The new flipped page welcomes us bringing new lessons to learn, experiences to explore, new path to traverse and above all, a vision of a fulfilling chapter of our lives. Let us use the talents given by our Father and make them beneficial not only for ourselves but for others as well. Let’s also be reminded that, “A really great talent finds its happiness in execution”
My warmest congratulations to everyone and God speed!
