How do English poems affect me
I am a book worm, thus, (1) ________ read a lot. As I spend
(2)_________ leisure time I see to it that I have a book at hand. I am fond of reading English poems not only because the authors are great but mainly it is due to the fact that (3) _______ write sensibly and are very sincere when it comes to the presentation of (4) ________ views. Shakespeare affects me a lot as (5)_________ speaks of his views about kings and queens in (6) _______ poems. He made me realize the people’s cruelties and greediness. Also, he let (7) _________ appreciate the intellect of women which in his time was kept in the house where (8) ________ were confined to serve their masters or husbands. As (9) _______ made Emilia triumph over Iago and enabled Portia to overcome Shylock’s fury Shakespeare made me conclude that women are designed by God not to become mothers or wives only but to become what (10) ________ aspire to be as they give meaning to (11) ________ lives. Percy Bysshe Shelley is another poet who motivated me to go on with life. He narrated (12) ________ failures and sufferrings in most of (13) _________ poems but as (14) _______ ended each of them (15) ________ belief in hope and a better tomorrow reflected. William Cullen Bryant’s realization of God’s guidance and presence everywhere for every creature has firmly set my faith in God’s word. Meaning, the poems did not only teach me academically but equipped (25) ________ spiritually as well.
